Summary:

The Exhibition of Musical Arts located within the Royal Opera House of Muscat (ROHM) opened to the public in May 2022 and features a collection of electro-mechanical interactives that provide an immersive audio and visual experience for visitors. The gallery explores the themes of sound and music at a very conceptual level, allowing visitors to understand how sound waves are formed, how different types of instrument produce sound, and how these sounds can be combined in order to produce rhythm and music.

Working as a designer at Unusual Projects I joined this project at an early stage to help flesh out the initial design concepts for each interactive. This involved providing the client team with design briefs, sketches, 3D models, and proof-of-concept prototypes.

The gallery was opened in honour of Oman's royal family, and as a result the project required that each interactive was built to the highest standards in terms of build quality, robustness, materials, decoration, and finish.
